I would sincerely like to thank you for making my Lumix LX5, Neesha, the opportunity to swim with us and enjoy the beach in Bacolod.

I remember seeing your kind a couple of months ago. You weren't cheap and it never crossed my mind to buy you. But after my Singapore trip with Neesha and a beach trip afterwards, I decided I wasn't going to sacrifice Neesha's fun times in Bacolod and Coron just to save a few pesos. I first looked at you at Rockwell Digital Walker because J's colleague got hers there. You were out of stock so I was sent to Greenbelt 5. We failed seeing each other again at Greenbelt 5. You were at Eastwood but I had no intention going all the way there just for us to be together. Sorry, I was being practical. Digital Walker volunteered to fly you to Rockwell in a week or so. I had you reserved for me and Neesha. No one could buy you until you're in Rockwell.



I waited for you to meet me in Rockwell. We finally met that one Saturday before our Bacolod trip. I was instructed to test you. I had to check if you can withstand crashing waves and a bucket of water without getting Neesha wet. I wanted Neesha dry and happy. So there you were, floating in a bucket of water for an hour with tissue papers inside you. Sorry if I dipped you, shook you and basically made you experience a tsunami within that hour. YOU HELD THROUGH. Good job, sailor! I hope you stay true to your promise that you're good even under 30 feet. Do not worry, I have no intention of bringing you under 30 feet. We will just be bumming at beaches and snorkeling in the afternoon.

Thank you for protecting Neesha during the turbulent boat ride to Lakawon Island. Thank you also for protecting Neesha from the sand as J and I lazily laid in the sand the whole afternoon. You made me let go of my fears when we went for a quick dip. Sorry for being paranoid and constantly checking if Neesha was still dry.


I had more faith in you when we took a dip at L'Fisher's infinite swimming pool. I was so happy that Neesha was swimming with us.



You and Neesha will definitely enjoy Coron on January. I am such a beach person that I promise we will have more trips together in 2012. Please don't give up on me.

Dicapac Underwater Case:
How does it work?
Dicapac cases have a ziplock-type of closure, then you fold the closure with velcro. Then it's another set of velcro to seal the velcro-ed closure.

We stayed at Rucksack Inn at Lavander St. after our event. One of my favorite new discovery was the disposable towel they sold for S$3.00 each. The owner said it was good for ten uses. Since I did not bring any towel during this trip, I ended up buying one.


It was my first time to actually hear about disposable towels. I was hesitant at first because it doesn't seem like a towel. It looked like paper. The first night I washed my face and did a test run on the disposable towel. It actually works. In fact, it's actually more absorbent than some towels I've had. The size is your average towel but I can wrap it around my body like a normal-size bath towel since I'm small.


I was so amused with this product.I actually want to have a stock of disposable towels for future travels. It doesn't eat up as much space as the normal towel. Plus, I can leave it when I'm on my way home and my luggage is full from all the souvenirs and food I hoarded along the way.

So... where to buy disposable towels here in Manila? Drop a comment if you know!

I was not always a fan of scarves. I thought they were meant to be worn when you're in Europe or New York. I bought my first scarf when I was looking for an ensemble for my first meeting with a publisher for a fashion magazine. I wanted to look good. I had a white top and a black skirt. All I did to spice up my outfit was a ruffled scarf.

I did not stop buying scarves. I thought they were perfect for corporate and smart casual attires. It was not until my trip to Bangkok that I fully appreciated my pretty, pink, floral scarf.



I used it almost everyday. I had it in my bag everywhere I went. I used it when the aircon was too cold at our secretariat. I made it my head cover when it started drizzling on our way to Ronny's pizza. I used it as a belt. I covered my cold water bottle with it before placing in my bag. I used it to tie my hair on a hot day. I used it not to get wet during our river tour. There is so much you can do with a scarf. It wont also take up so much space in your luggage. You can bring basic tops and have your scarf brighten your outfit. Scarves are now one of my travel essentials.

I first packed my red notebook during our trip to Boracay. I wanted it to be one of my new travel companions. I've always wanted to have an affair with this legendary notebook. So I placed it at the side of my backpack and rode the plane.



Its convenience is undeniable. Those blank pages can easily be filled with trip facts, doodles and thoughts. Its elastic closure guarantees those tickets and receipts wont be falling out.  Its expandable inner pocket can keep your plane tickets, extra money and those sentimental things you want to bring home. It's a great alternative for your emergency wallet. Who would want to steal a notebook?


The color red stands out in my bag. For those who want to be discreet, you can always opt to buy the black version. After taking it with me for the past three trips, I can already consider it as one of my essential travel companions.

I know it's an expensive notebook and I got mine as a gift but I wouldn't mind purchasing another one in the future. No wonder it's a legendary notebook. I think I'll purchase one of those city notebooks next time.
