Unlike the streets of Manila at night, Singapore welcomes tourists to walk around the city at night without worrying too much. You can actually enjoy the pleasant views especially in Esplanade. This was the night Neesha proved to be satisfactory in taking night shots. Here's a short walk on what we saw that Saturday night.

We stayed at Rucksack Inn at Lavander St. after our event. One of my favorite new discovery was the disposable towel they sold for S$3.00 each. The owner said it was good for ten uses. Since I did not bring any towel during this trip, I ended up buying one.


It was my first time to actually hear about disposable towels. I was hesitant at first because it doesn't seem like a towel. It looked like paper. The first night I washed my face and did a test run on the disposable towel. It actually works. In fact, it's actually more absorbent than some towels I've had. The size is your average towel but I can wrap it around my body like a normal-size bath towel since I'm small.


I was so amused with this product.I actually want to have a stock of disposable towels for future travels. It doesn't eat up as much space as the normal towel. Plus, I can leave it when I'm on my way home and my luggage is full from all the souvenirs and food I hoarded along the way.

Lavender Food Square

I first had my Iced Kachang (or called Bobo Chacha by my colleague) on a casual dinner at Lavender Food Square. It costs only S$1.00. Basically it's shaved ice, colored syrup, milk and beans. It's like those rainbow mountains you see on your niece's television shows. You can imagine unicorns going around your bowl of iced kachang.

Rucksack Inn at Lavender can be your home away from home in Singapore. It is NOT your fancy hotel or your bed and breakfast inn but it's definitely worth your hard-earned travel money. "Homey" would be the perfect adjective for it, even it may seem overused at most occasions. This isn't one of those occasions.

Rucksack at Lavander is the third of the Rucksack Inns situated around Singapore. The first two can be found in Hongkong Street just near the famous Clarke Quay.
